Piano Music Theory Books Reddit

piano music theory books reddit

I've been learning piano practice and theory for 12 years. i want to further my knowledge in music theory but i want to have a source to fall back on even for the basic stuff. i've been told that the best book for the job is this one .. But the best theory book i've ever seen is the one i used in college. it was the best simply because it was the most thorough of the few that i have seen, and it takes you step by step through all of the basic theory. it's the book that many people with degrees in music used, like me: music in theory & practice by bruce benward & marilyn saker.. Two minute music theory - just like the title says - a variety of concepts condensed into a high-level 2 minute over view. 8-bit music theory - "i love music and i love video games and i love analyzing and talking about music from video games" guim - is similar to 8-bit music theory. a lot of final fantasy..

If you want a book that will actually help you learn music theory, take a look at: "tonal harmony" by kostka and payne, or "the musician's guide to theory and analysis" by clendinning and marvin. the clendinning/marvin book is really well-laid-out, but totally bails on trying to explain the really complex harmony that happened in the late 19th. In this way i hope to show how music (in general) works and is constructed. notes. a note is the smallest element of music. it is a pitched sound. in western music, there are 12 notes in an octave – labelled a through g (with sharps and flats). each key on the piano denotes a single note (see below)..
